Rhode Island Republicans Enter 2026 With a Clear Opportunity

Rhode Island remains one of the most Democratic states in the country, but 2026 is shaping up as a year when Republicans have a real opening to make their case. Voters are concerned about affordability, housing, taxes, public safety, roads, bridges, and whether state government is delivering enough value for the money it spends.

For Republicans, the argument is straightforward: Rhode Island needs more balance, more accountability, and more common sense in state government. One-party control has not solved the state’s biggest problems. In many cases, it has made them easier to ignore.
